Ningbo Kangxin Prosthetics and Orthotics Center was established in 1996 and officially registered in 1999. It covers an area of over 2,000 square meters. Founded by Mr. Wang Yongcheng, the center is a legal entity under the jurisdiction of the Ningbo Civil Affairs Bureau. The center is designated by the Ningbo Labor Bureau as a certified provider of assistive devices for workers injured on the job. It is also an authorized fitting center for Ossur prosthetics from the United States and Ottobock prosthetics from the UK, and is a member of the China Prosthetics Association. The center is one of the earliest institutions in eastern Zhejiang Province to obtain qualification for the fabrication and fitting of prosthetic limbs. The center is primarily divided into a Prosthetics Department and a Department for Assistive Devices for Persons with Disabilities. As a large-scale, technologically advanced, and financially strong professional prosthetic medical institution, the center enjoys preferential policies from the state aimed at persons with disabilities and actively promotes the rehabilitation of people with disabilities.
